Golden Sun 3 - My Theories and Opinion

Alright, so a lot of you Golden Sun fans/players have already read in a previous interview that a possible sequel was going to strike once more, but they don't want to half-ass it just like that. They want to give it the time it deserves, since it has been what.. 5 years since the previous release (Notice that this is the US release date)? That's a long time. In this short essay, I'll write down my opinions and theories on certain possibilities that may occur in the possible new reinstatement of the series. This may contain spoilers, so if you haven't completed any of the games in the series and you're not the type of person that likes having such wonderful experiences spoiled on such a wonderful RPG, then please don't continue reading. I'll warn you though, my theories might sound pretty...crazy..

Before you even read this entire paragraph, you'll probably notice the name "Alex" and you'll instantly assume that it is the same idea as always. It will be similar, but I feel I may have to repeat this myself, with a few tweaks. We all know Alex, in the ending of GS: TLA that Alex climbed to the peak of Mt. Aleph in an attempt to claim the power of the Golden Sun when it rised. He failed to claim this power, however, as The Wise One broke it to him and only exclaimed that he's merely grown in strength. Alex attempted to use his newfound powers (which in turn caused him to fail because of his lack of control of it), although The Wise One quickly retaliates, and he is stuck to the ground. The Wise One then mentions that this power lies with Young Isaac now. An earthquake occured, and then Alex was swallowed along with the Earth and he was never heard of again.

If he really did survive, then there's a good chance that Saturos and Menardi also survived their little fall as well. Think about it... I remember that in the ending of Golden Sun in the Venus Lighthouse, that they threw themselves into the beacons opening. However, there was a body of water clearly visible if you looked through the opening. At one point in GS: TLA, Sheba exclaimed that they both must be at the bottom of the sea right now. But then.. what if they didn't drown at all? What if they swam back to Gondowan shore, somehow? Even if the Venus Lighthouse went apart, it's still a possibility that they might have swum back to shore safely. They could not have been spotted. At least, since at that time there was an earthquake, if I remember correctly. There were Guards and Ruffians, though they could have easily seeked for shelter in their town/village, so they would not have been noticed that easily. There was a huge tidal wave, but I doubt they were washed away along with it. They even must have been affiliating with Alex for quite some time somehow. When Karst and Agatio needed Alex the most in their appearances, he never showed up. Like in Jupiter Lighthouse when they fought Isaac's party. Although if they were affiliating, why? Was it to plot revenge on Isaac and his party for what happened on Jupiter Lighthouse after all of the beacons were lit? If Alex's plan had launched succesfully, Saturos and Menardi could have used him as a form of killing Isaac. One thing is for sure, it isn't confirmed that Saturos or Menardi actually died. They could have actually survived but there whereabouts could have been unknown.

What happened to the boat Isaac and his crew had? Was it just a coincidence that it disappeared or it was never ever heard of again throughout the entire GS: TLA gameplay? It's very odd too that if you Transfer Data by using the "Gold" Code, it so happens to be that Garet is holding a black jewel that can allow you to control the ship. Why was this never brought up? Even if it was optional to have the jewel, I think their ship could have at least been mentioned at any point during the game, but it wasn't. If you want to know what I think, it may have been because it was stolen. Except, I doubt that this was Karst or Agatio. My bets are on the only possible two that definitely did posess the jewel during GS.. Saturos and Menardi. It is plainly obvious, since they even mentioned that with that jewel, they can control the ship. it was even mentioned in Idejima, in GS: TLA by Jenna/Kraden. They could have just as easily claimed the boat because they had a jewel as well. A theory that may also back this up could be the boat that was found on Idejima by Jenna and Kraden. We never heard of it again either. Was this the actual boat claimed by Karst and Agatio, or did it just fall over Gaia Falls during that gigantic tidal wave? There is a possibility this is true, despite how much of conjecture this is. There is just a big mystery surrounding this entire boat business that it's almost obvious in my train of thoughts that this could be what happened. But why this was never brought up in the game is a mystery.

Speaking of Gaia Falls, it is pretty strange. When we're proceeding and we try to go over the edges, all we can see is that the water is crashing down. But is there really another world under it? Is it just as much of a delusion as claiming that the Earth was shaped like a square, but it turns out that it was really circular? Since all we see when we proceed to Gaia Falls is just some sort of white fog underneath. There haven't been any stories about anybody in the game ever falling into Gaia Falls, so there is no real proof saying that anybody has actually taken a fall from what my gameplay experience tells me.

I can, so far, make a wild guess that the majority of my trivial "mysteries" will be explained when a new Golden Sun is released. If you read all of that and you enjoyed it, thanks for reading.
